Hans Straub: Ein Lebenslauf im Dienste der Neurologie

Dieser Artikel beleuchtet den Werdegang von Hans Straub, einem renommierten Neurologen. Dabei werden seine akademische Ausbildung, seine beruflichen Stationen und seine wissenschaftlichen Schwerpunkte detailliert dargestellt.

Akademische Ausbildung und Approbation

Hans Straub absolvierte von 1977 bis 1983 sein Studium der Humanmedizin an der Universität des Saarlandes. Im Anschluss erhielt er die Approbation als Arzt. Parallel dazu studierte er von 1979 bis 1981 Informatik an derselben Universität.

Promotion und wissenschaftliche Tätigkeit

Im Jahr 1984 promovierte Straub an der medizinischen Fakultät der Universität des Saarlandes. Seine Dissertation befasste sich mit Untersuchungen zur Frage der "trophischen" Beeinflussung von Tonusfasern des Frosches durch motorische Nervenfasern bei Prof. Dr. H. Schmidt/Prof. R. Stämpfli (I. Physiologisches Institut).

Von 1983 bis 1985 war er als wissenschaftlicher Mitarbeiter im SFB Membranphysiologie am I. Physiologischen Institut unter Prof. Dr. H. Schmidt (Leiter: Prof. Dr. med. Dr. hc. R. Stämpfli) tätig.

Klinische Ausbildung und Facharztanerkennung

Seine klinische Ausbildung begann Straub von 1985 bis 1986 als Assistenzarzt an der Neurologischen Klinik der Universität des Saarlandes (Leiter: Prof. Dr. K. Schimrigk). Von 1988 bis 1994 setzte er seine Assistenzarzttätigkeit an der Neurologischen Klinik der Heinrich-Heine-Universität Düsseldorf (Leiter Prof. Dr. H.-J. Freund) fort, wo er auch als Projektleiter im Sonderforschungsbereich 194 /B7 "Störung neuronaler Funktionen durch molekulare immunologische Mediatoren" tätig war.

Im Jahr 1991 absolvierte Straub eine psychiatrische Ausbildung an der KMR-Klinik in Düsseldorf und erlangte im selben Jahr die Gebietsbezeichnung "Arzt für Neurologie".

Habilitation und Oberarzttätigkeit

1994 habilitierte sich Straub für das Fach Neurologie mit dem Thema: "Neue Perspektiven in der Schlaganfalldiagnostik durch ultrasonographische Messungen von Mikroembolien" durch Prof. Dr. H.-J. Freund. Anschließend wurde er Oberarzt an der Neurologischen Klinik der Heinrich-Heine-Universität.

Weitere Projekte und Zusatzqualifikationen

Von 1996 bis 2000 war Straub Projektleiter im Graduiertenkolleg: "Vom Gen zum Verhalten" mit dem Teilprojekt: "Neuronale Netzwerke". Zwischen 1997 und 2008 erfolgte der Aufbau und die Leitung der Schlaganfallstation (Stroke Unit) sowie die Leitung der Zerebrovaskulären Einheit (16 Betten, spezielle Gefäßambulanz, Ultraschall-Labor).

Im Jahr 1999 absolvierte er eine intensivmedizinische Ausbildung an der Neurochirurgischen Klinik der Heinrich-Heine-Universität (Prof. Dr. Bock) und erlangte die Zusatzbezeichnung "Spezielle Neurologische Intensivmedizin". 2002 bis 2006 Leitung des BMBF Projekte "Stroke Imaging".

Professur und Chefarzttätigkeit

Im Jahr 2000 wurde Straub zum außerplanmäßigen Professor an der Heinrich-Heine-Universität Düsseldorf ernannt. 2007 Absolvent der Business School Universität Düsseldorf. 2008 Chefarzt der Neurologie/Neurorehablitation MEDICLIN Fachklinik Rhein Ruhr Standort Essen/Kettwig.

Führungsaufgaben und Projektleitungen

In den Jahren 2011/2013 absolvierte Straub Führungsseminarausbildungen bei Asklepios in Königstein. Seit 2012 ist er Mitglied des Medical Boards Asklepios Klinik / Mediclin AG.

Von 2011 bis 2015 war er Projektleiter des EU Projektes RehabX in Kooperation mit der Universität Duisburg und der Universität Düsseldorf. Zwischen 2016 und 2020 leitete er das BMBF Projekt „Rehaboard“ in Kooperation mit den Universitäten Duisburg, Düsseldorf und Bochum. Seit 2021 ist Straub Ärztlicher Direktor der Fachklinik Rhein / Ruhr.

Weitere Qualifikationen und Ermächtigungen

Straub besitzt die Zusatzbezeichnungen spezielle Neurologische Intensivmedizin und Verkehrsmedizin. Er erhielt ein Ausbildungs-/Forschungsstipendium der Deutschen Forschungsgemeinschaft (18 Monate). Zudem verfügt er über Weiterbildungsermächtigungen für FA (Facharzt) Allgemeinmedizin (Hausarzt) MEDICLIN Fachklinik Rhein/Ruhr Dauer: Monate gemeinsam mit Prof. Dr. Marx FA (Facharzt) Neurologie MEDICLIN Fachklinik Rhein/Ruhr Dauer: Monate.
